An Independence Day ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 4th at 10am at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville. The program will feature speaker Capt. Edward H. Park from Fort McCoy (Company Commander of Headquarters & Headquarters Company), Color Guards from Rib River DAV #331 & VVA #479, bagpiper Gavin Teeter and singer Sydney Johnson. Taps will be performed by Jordan Watson.
Weather permitting; The Highgrounds Big Maps of the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf (Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan) will be displayed for Vietnam veterans and Gold Star families to sign.
